A COOKING RECEIPT: HOW TO DO GAZPACHO

This dish is my favourite in summer because it is really refreshing and very healthy. It comes from Andalucía and in my house; we have it every day for lunch at summer!

The ingredients you need to do it are:
· 4 tomatoes
· 4 Piece of bread
· 2 onions
· 1 red pepper
· 3 garlic
· Half glass of vinegar
· 1 Handful of salt

The process:
Put the tomatoes, pieces of bread, onions, red pepper, green pepper and garlic in a bowl. Cut all the ingredients in the bowl. Then, grind all. Add the half glass of vinegar, and add the handful of salt in the bowl. Then, mix all. The dish finished.

It is an easy dish which you can have fun cooking it and also eating it because when you are very hot all you really need is something fresh with a lot of vitamins, this is why I have tried this dish because all of us need a gazpacho!!!

ENGLISH RECIPE:

APPLE CAKE

I love this cake. This is my favourite dessert and this recipe is very easy to do.
I tested this cake last year in my friend's house. His mother is English and she cooks very well. She taught me to make this cake and now, when I have guests in my house I always make it.
I hope you like!!!!!!

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1 1/4 cups white sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
5 1/2 cups chopped apples

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and baking soda.
Add the eggs, oil and vanilla, mix well. Add the nuts and apple, mix until all of the apples are evenly coated.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven.
Serve warm or cool.

FIVE RECIPES OF THE WORLD

EUROPE

The Lutefisk is a traditional food of the Nordic countries, made from white fish and dry caustic soda. Is made based on dry white fish (usually cod), prepared with soda; first you must soak the fish in cold water for five or six days (changes daily), after the fish is immersed in a saturated solution of cold water and soda for two days (no change). The fish will grow during this dive, gaining wider than the fish, causing a jelly consistency. When treatment ends, fish, saturated with soda, has acquired a high pH and is therefore corrosive. To do so requires an edible last dive of four to six days (and nights) in cold water (changed daily). Then, the lutefisk is ready for cooking. It must be cooked carefully so as not to shred: put in a pan, salt, seal well and leave the pan to steam cook a very low heat for 20-25 minutes. It is also possible to baking in a dish, covered with foil, at 225 ° C (435 ° F) for 40-50 minutes.

NORTH AMERICA

Tourtière is a kind of meatloaf, characteristic of Canada, made with pork, deer or cow. it's a traditional dish that is served at Christmas time for many generations in Canada and United States. The basic ingredients are a bread dough which is coated in a pot and beef into small cubes, a little bacon and potato cubes, chopped onion and celery with the meat, they also include some broth meat is not dry at the end. It closes with the dough and put in the oven for a few hours at 250 º C. You can also prepare the meat in a skillet with all the raw ingredients and mix everything together and making everything go in the oven.

CENTRAL AMERICA

The Tostón is a common dish in the Caribbean countries and is usually served as accompanist to other dishes, consisting of fried green bananas seasoned with salt, garlic and other spices, usually in the form of slices. To prepare the banana tostón it is sliced thick and fried in hot oil for a short period of time (until golden brown), after which they are taken out of the pan, crushed with a roller and are re - place in oil to finish frying. Another way is to make cutting the banana into very thin slices and put them to fry, without the need for crushing.

SOUTH AMERICA

The Curanto is a typical food of the Patagonian Chile and Argentina. His preparation requires some time and is a social event that requires the work five or more persons. It is traditionally prepared in the open, in fact a well dug in the ground, about one and half meters deep. The bottom is covered with stones that are heated in a bonfire. When they are very hot, you begin to put the ingredients. It also requires the selection and cleaning of the shellfish to be used, and manufactured the milcao (prepared by mixing raw and cooked potatoes with other ingredients) and chapalee (mass-based cooked potatoes and wheat flour). After setting up the curanto and sealed to allow for steam cooking and smoking, caused by direct contact of the red rocks. First you put the seafood, meat, potatoes, sausages, chapalee, milcao and vegetables, then each layer of ingredients is covered with large leaves of plant. All this is covered with wet earth and sandbags simulating a large pressure cooker in which food is cooked for one hour.

AFRICA

The Laxoox or Canjeero is a flat bread, served in Somalia and parts of Djibouti, and usually eat in the morning or afternoon. The bread is made with a mixture of wheat flour, yeast, water hot and a small portion of salt. The mixture was beat by hand until it becomes creamy and smooth, in this case is left to ferment in the evening. Traditionally cooked in a circular metal plate called Daawa or if not in a normal frying pan. Is often used to flavor caramel or melted butter and it can be served with scrambled egg, minced meat, camel milk tea Turkish etc.

MIDDLE EAST

The Musakhkhan, one of the most traditional and popular dishes from the kitchen Palestinian Territory, can be found in almost all Middle Eastern countries in different variants. Contains three basic ingredients: chicken, fruit juice from a plant called sumac and pita bread called taboun. It is prepared with chicken breast with onions fried in olive oil until they become golden. After the pieces are cooked with different spices in water until they become tender, after it is fried in a pan with juice and sumac and finally served with bread taboun.

ASIA

The Thenthuk noodle soup is a very common in Tibetan cuisine, served as part of the dinner and sometimes lunch. The main ingredients are wheat flour dough, a mixture of various vegetables and some pieces of mutton or yak. To make the soup, the vegetables and the meat are bite all together and takes the form of boiling soup. Work the mass of flour, when the soup starts to taste. It shapes the dough and cut into pieces at the same time, pouring the resulting chunks in the soup (in the end of cooking) and is ready to be served.

OCEANIA

A malassada is a kind of donut from the Portuguese cuisine, and Oceania by estendido very popular in Hawaii. are made with a mass in the form of balls (no larger than an egg) to which yeast is added and then fried in oil and coated with sugar, these cakes do not contain fillers, although some varieties are filled at present creams. Formerly made with lard and sugar. Usually taken as a snack or dessert.

Work-lifebalance
In order to have a good lifebalance we must combine exercise, work hours and social life. It isn't easy because the daily routine is very hard and when you finish work hours you are probably exhausted. For that reason, we should organize our free hours, for example you would feel better if you played a sport twice a week and at the same time maybe you would meet interesting people and improve your social life.
Also you would feel better if you took care of yourself ( go shopping, have your hair cut, etc.).
If you get properly your work-lifebalance you will feel satisfied about yourself and your life, as a consequence you would be in a better humor and you would work in a better way.
It's very important to go out with friends, it is the better medication to get out the stress and to enjoy simply the life.

Tourism Queensland is seeking applicants for the best job in the world! The role of Island Caretaker is a six-month contract, based on luxurious Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef. It is a live-in position with flexibel working hours and key responsabilities include exploring the islands of the Great Barrier Reef to discover what the area has to offer.

I am very interested in the best job in the world! I am 34 and I work as a physicist xat a hospital. I have been living in an island for many years. I have travelled all around the world, from Caribeean Islands to Maldivian Islands and I have been to South America many times . When I was a child I used to travel a lot with my parents who had worked as diplomatics in many countries.

Although I have never been to Australia, I know all about the location (its world´s largest coral reef, its fabulous beaches, or its wonderful and gorgeous wildlife).

I have an adventurous attitude, I love the beach and I have a big passion for the outdoors. I would to try new things. I have an ability to engage with others, and one year´s relevant experience. I am very kindly, patient and considerate. I am really hilarious and very extrovert. I will try to resolve quickly ,if I have a problem. I am as strong as an athlete, and Inever have fear if I will be alone.

I am good swimming and I have an enthusiasm for snorkelling and diving too.
I love taking photos, making videos or sunbathing on the beach, and I like meeting people above all. But I also could go to fishing if it is necessary. But, on the other hand, I am very good at computers and photography. I am used to working with computers and hi-tech goods!
So I am think I am the best person for it because I know a lot about the islands of the Great Barrie Reef. I poss a broad range of experience. I have an excellent interpersonal communication skills and I am absolutely great at writting and verbal english skills .

I could feed the fish of the island, clean the pool and dive in and enjoy a few laps!
I could collect the mail during my aerial explorations and get a bird´s eye view of the reef and islands.

I want to present you with a new tool that I have just discovered: Lexipedia.com (Where Words Have Meaning).

It is only a dictionary, which includes different languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch and Italian), but with a visual approach to lexicon. In other words, it gets words into semantic groups, and I think that it can be a really very interesting application in order to learn new vocabulary.

" Life is Beautiful"

It's an Italian film, in 1997, it was directed, written and also played by Roberto Benigni. This film was winner of over 40 international prizes including three Oscar in 1999, for best actor, best foreign film and best original music.

The film is set in the period of World War II when the power is on fascim and anti-semitism.

It's about Guido, an Italian man descenden from Jews who lives in the city of Arezzo in 1939. Guido falls in love and later marries with Dora, we have a son named Joshua. This family's happiness is short because Guido, this uncle and Joshua are deported to a nazi concentration camp. Dora, who wasn't named to board the train that leads to the field, she's entered voluntarily with the whole family. There, Guido make believe to his son that all is about a game in which only he'll win if he hasn't seen by the grumpy German guards...

I love this movie, I strongly recommend though is dramatic because it shows us the life of the Holocaust like a game even with all its atrocities. The director is able to convert something sad into funny, the films makes you laugn and mourn. By all this, it's one of my favourite film.

Recipe: Typical mallorquin dish

“Tumbet” is made with aubergines, courgette, red or green peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, oil and salt. The ingredients are fried and the dish is served warm, at room temperature or cold. In all three cases, it is a delicious, emblematic dish.

Ingredients

Serves 4

500g potatoes, peeled

500g aubergines

2 sweet red peppers

Olive oil for frying

3 garlic cloves

Salt

Sauce

400g tinned chopped tomatoes

2 garlic cloves, finely sliced

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper

Method

Finely slice the potatoes and aubergines. Salt the aubergines and let them in a colander to let them lose the water (otherwise they could taste bitter and fry wrongly). Cut the peppers in half, discard the core and seeds, and slice each half into long, thin fingers. Salt slightly the potatoes before friying them.

Heat a little oil in a frying pan and gently fry the potatoes with one garlic clove, one layer at a time, until golden. Transfer to the base of a terracotta or porcelain baking dish and season well. Fry the aubergine in a little extra oil with another garlic clove until well browned, arrange on top of the potatoes and season well. Fry the peppers, also with a garlic clove, and arrange on top of the aubergines.

To make the sauce, combine the tomatoes, garlic and olive oil with sea salt and pepper in a saucepan and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Rectify salt and peper. If the tomatoes are strongly acid you may need to add some sugar.

Pour the sauce over the top and bake (oven at 180 ºC) for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbling.

Notes

The tumbet makes an excellent vegetarian dish, but it is also used as a garnish of grilled pork meat, fried eggs or fried or grilled red mullet.

Raindrop was falling out of a cloud, and it said to the raindrop next to it: "I'm the biggest and best raindrop in the whole sky!"
"You are indeed a fine raindrop", said the second, "but you are not nearly so beautifully shaped as I am. And in my opinion it's shape that counts, and I am therefore the best raindrop in the whole sky".
The first raindrop replied: "Let us settle this matter once and for all". So they asked a third raindrop to decide between them.

A weird dream by Neus Amengual

People often say that dreaming is only for those who want to run away from this world and submerge themselves in a parallel one. Well, there is still no evidence which lets us deny reality, but it is well-known that dreams can come true at least once in someone’s life.

It was a weird dream. I found myself in an unknown dark place surrounded by bright flowers and enormous trees when suddenly a boy appeared behind me. Staring at him for half a minute, I decided to ask him for his name. I did not obtain a response so I continued looking for somebody who could help me to find some place where sleeping and eating were possible. After a while, from the distance, I saw a little but cosy house in which I could spend the entire night.

Half an hour later, I managed to get to the house. Being afraid, I knocked on the door. There was no answer, so I opened the door slowly so that nobody could hear me come in. I can perfectly remember the spacious and well-furnished rooms and also the peculiar colour of the walls. Having hesitated for some minutes, I decided to enter the room whose door was half-open and ... what a surprise! All my friends were there and they immediately started singing Happy Birthday to me. I had forgotten it was my birthday so I greeted them with surprise and I joined the party, chatting and dancing with each one of my friends.

It had been a strange but incredible dream. The next day it was my birthday and do you know what happened? Part of the dream came true. My friends planned and prepared a party to celebrate my nineteen years. So I can confirm that dreams really do come true.

The last night I hired a dvd film to watch on TV and I think was interesting and a good entertaiment so I decided to make a review about it and here is my point of view.

The film is a thriller called Red Dragon and it was directed by Brett Ratner and it was based on a novel written by Thomas Harris. It stars Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal "The Cannibal" Ledcter and Edward Norton, who plays the part of a retired FBI agent.

It was set in USA where it was the story situated and it was shot in studios where the set is easier to make.

This film is a sequel from the film called Hannibal Rising and its about a murderer called Tooth Fairy who he has killed two whole family to eat them. At the beginning of the film, he invites political people to have dinner at his home while at the same time the detective is investigating the murder of some people who didn't have different parts of their body. These parts are cooked by the murderer to offer them to his guests.

The agent find out few clues and he knows who is the killer, however the FBI agent is injured by the murderer, as a result, the agent retires. Nevertheless a set of grisly murders brings the agent out of retirement and puts him in search of an atrocious killer who is driven by the image of a painting. This agent who has an ability to get into the minds of criminals gets capture the killer and the film ends. But if you want to watch the next film about the story you will have to see "The silent of lambs" where the star Anthony Hopkins won an oscar.

I strongly recommend Red Dragon because this thriller keeps you in suspense and its soundtrack is superb. Don't miss this triology!

RECIPE: "Backed salmon" by Xisca and Marga

Hello partners!

We don't like eating takeaway food. We prefer home-made food and we enjoy making meals in our houses so we have a lot of recipes. This is our best one!

Ingredients

2 back salmon without bones

lemon juice (100 ml)

salt and pepper

olive oil

1 garlic

10 or 12 peppermint leaves

Process

Put the back salmon on the ovenproof dish with the skin below and put salt, pepper, peppermint leaves and season it with the lemon juice and, at the end, add olive oil. After that, cover the dish with silver paper and put it in the oven during 30-35 minutes at 180º C.

It can go with steamed potatoes and spinaches cream.

It's delicious!

Two delicious, exotic and healthy recipes.

Lemongrass Soup

This is a tasty Thai recipe. It is especially easy to make.

Ingredients:

½ pound raw shrimp (may substitute chicken or omit altogether.
6 cups water.
2 cups fresh mushrooms, cleaned and quartered1 tomato, sliced into 8 pieces lengthwise.
2 stalks lemongrass1 tablespoon Chili Paste in Soy Bean Oil
4 tablespoons fish sauce.
5 tablespoons fresh lime or lemon juice1 green onion, chopped fine

Directions - How to do it!

Peel and devein the shrimp, reserving the shells. Cook just the shells in the water in a soup pot until the shells turn pink then discard the shells.

Cut the lemongrass into 3 inch sections and crush each piece just to expose the flavourful insides of the stalks. I try to keep the crush stalks from fragmenting because I like to pick out the stalks when the cooking is done. I find the stalks too fibrous to leave in the soup.Add the lemongrass sections to the water and bring to a boil and simmer it for a few minutes.

Add the mushrooms and shrimp and cook just until the shrimp turns pink. If you are using chicken, cook it until all the pink is gone. It is easy to overcook shrimp and chicken so take care at this point.

Remove from heat and add the tomato, fish sauce, lime/lemon juice and the green onion and serve hot. Better on a winter day!

Salmon and Seaweed Sushi Roll

I love wasabi!!!

Ingredients:

8 oz of sushi rice.
6 oz of raw fresh salmon.
2 tablespoons of Japanese soy sauce.
1 tablespoon of Sugar.
1 teaspoon of Wasabi paste.
6 sheets of nori seaweed.
One six-inch pickled radish.
Pickled ginger.

Directions - How to do it!

Slice the pickled radish into a thin strip.Slice the raw fresh salmon in to a slightly thicker strip and place with the soy sauce and sugar.

Drain; then coast with Wasabi paste.Position the nori seaweed sheets on the surface you intend on eating from, and place the sushi rice on the seaweed.Place one strip of salmon and one strip radish in the centre and roll to form sushi.Slice and serve with pickled ginger.

A walk to Es Caragol beach

Now is a good time for a walk along the Majorcan coast, near the sea.
I propose to go to Es Caragol beach, where you will enjoy an isolated unspoiled beach, uncrowded white sandthin calm water .
This small beach can only be reached by walking or boat
The beach is about 500 m long and 60 m wide.
First, you have to go to Es Llombars, a little village after Santanyi town.
Past the village,on the same road, you'll find a sign on the left indicating the way to the Salines lighthouse, where the walk starts.
In Ses Salines lighthouse you can leave your car.
Walk down to the coast and turn right. After aprox. 2 kilometers you'll reach the beach. It is a good idea to bring a picnic, because you won't find anything to buy on the beach
To get that beach is quite a walk,but remember something to drink if it is hot.

Billy Elliot

Billy Elliot is an english film from 2000 directed by Stephen Daldry. The story is about a boy who lives in the town of Everington. It's a fictional name for the real County Durham from the north-east of England.

Billy's father wants that Billy becomes a boxer, and he take him to classes. But in few time the boy find out that he doesn't like this sport. One day, he see a ballet class in the gym where he used to take his boxing classes. Since that moment he knows that he want be able to dance ballet and he beggin to practise with the teacher.

The story is set during the miners' strike that takes place during the period Margaret Thatcher is Prime Minister. That means a hard time for Billy0s family, because his father and his brother works in a mine and it's also a problem for Billys dream to become a professional ballet dancer. Al first, her family doesn't accept his decision, but with the teacher's help, he obtain the permision from his father.

Billy's love to ballet makes him possible to go to an audition for the Royal Ballet School in London. Finally and with an older Billy, the film ends with a scene from the Swan Lake where he takes part.

I want you to see and hear one of the songs from the film, wich appears in a scene where Billy tries to show his family how he can dance. It's called A town called Malice, from the The Jam's.

Ibiza, called Eivissa in Catalan and Formentera are the two southernmost of the Balearic Islands and are located in the Mediterranean Sea about 120 kilometres to the south of Mallorca and about 160 kilometres from the coast of Valencia, Spain. Apart from nightclubs, Ibiza is known for its irregular rocky coastline and beaches with white, gold and even black sand, as well as a multitude of secluded bays and coves, cliffs, and land on with olive trees grow in abundance.

Ibiza's main cities are Ibiza, Santa Eulària des Riu and Sant Antoni de Portmany.

Ibiza has a nice international airport and a superb port, as a result, you can go by plane or by ship. One time at the island I strongly recommend to hire a car and going to a lost and marvellous cove and taking a bath or simply to be lying on the fine sand.

However, if you don't want to spend on a car, the public transport is magnificient and it takes you everywhere.

If you go to Formentera on a day trip from Ibiza by ferry, of course, you will have to cycle the whole island and enjoying of a peace unique in Europe contemplating a superb view on the Mediterranean Sea.

When you come back to Ibiza you will be able to see a fantastic and lovely sunset.
